No illegal timber
Some suppliers are still working with illegal timber. At De Sutter Naturally we are horse and nature lovers and we feel that our grandchildren also have the right to a healthy planet. That is why we resolutely select timber from sustainably managed forests.
Once timber is not simply logged at random, but harvested according to local and international legislation instead, it is an ecological and renewable building material that can serve its purpose indefinitely.
Hardwood or softwood?
Tropical hardwood and pine softwood are both durable and very suitable for building a wooden pasture fence. Our hardwood fence is made from tropical wood of sustainability class 1. The fence does not require any maintenance, becoming even more beautiful when it ages and is accompanied by a 30-year warranty.
We work with top quality pinewood for our softwood fences. Thanks to the wood being thoroughly dried, we can guarantee optimal impregnation. This results in a maintenance-free fence with a 20-year warranty.
Two global certifications
Our tropical hardwood is always FSC-certified. FSC® or Forest Stewardship Council is the best-known certification worldwide. This organisation supervises forest management and controls the origin of traded timber.
For our softwood pine fences, we use timber with the PEFC label. This Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification is an international organisation that controls renewable logging and guarantees sustainable forest management.
Top quality
At De Sutter Naturally we strictly supervise the purchase of timber. We check the quality of the timber we receive and oversee processing and impregnation from start to finish. As a result, our horse fences, pasture gates and shelters are of unprecedented top quality for you to enjoy for many years.
